Author Guidelines
As a very small independent bookstore with a tiny staff, we primarily stock our shop with titles purchased via traditional publishers and distributors for ease of ordering and restocking.
We understand that the publishing industry has many barriers to entry and that there are are other avenues to getting crucial books out to readers, including self-published author consignment with independent community bookstores like ours.
Please carefully read all guidelines below before contacting us.
All books considered for submission by our team must ...
✔️ Have a printed and bound cover.
The cover can be paperback, hardback, board, or an equivalent material, but it must display the title and author name.
✔️ Have a printed and bound spine.
The spine must display the title and author name. (If readers/ staff can't find your books on our shelves, they cannot sell.)
✔️ Display a unique ISBN.
Your book must have a 13-digit International Standard Book Number (ISBN) and bar code for ease of scanning and re-ordering
We cannot accept books submissions that are…
❌ Published via Amazon.
This includes books created using Kindle Direct Publishing and CreateSpace. (If you are considering self-publishing, we recommend Ingram Spark.)

❌ Pitched in person.
Our busy team will redirect you to this page if you visit our store without an appointment.
❌ Expected to be returned.
Any unsolicited books mailed or left in our store will be considered donations and become the sole property of Impossible Moon Bookshop.
